SeaGlass Creative Business Venture
I’ve loved the ocean for as long as I can remember. Taking a marine biology course in college and learning more about the environmental catastrophes that the ocean faces today is what spurred my choice to pursue environmental activism. For the course Writing for Public Speaking, I developed a business venture over the course of a quarter. I chose to examine how ocean reefs are dying due to pollution, and the dependency all of natural life has on the reefs as well. This sparked my idea to create an artificial reef company that would allow for investors to personalize their reefs and be able to monitor and watch their own underwater creation sustain life.
I created a business brochure for SeaGlass that outlines the company and would encourage interested individuals to invest in it. I also presented this business three times over the quarter to my class, changing my presentation each time to cater to different audiences, such as investors, policymakers and general attendees. Creating SeaGlass was great practice at entrepreneurship and professional presentation.
