During the 2023-2024 school year, I worked for UCSB TV as an on-air news anchor. Every other week , I created a news story pertaining to the campus and the local community. This involved writing the script, filming segments and acquiring interviews. I produced stories on a range of topics. My first story was on a change to the UCSB cafes’ coffee recipe, and I also reported on the Isla Vista Co-Op, a Dia De Los Muertos installation in the library, Deltopia, the Isla Vista cliffs and various other community events.

Writing and reporting on weekly stories for UCSB TV gave me practice in time management, teamwork and shaping stories for specific audiences. Through these segments, I became more connected to the UCSB and Isla Vista community and grew as a writer.
